Michael Knight will ride again

As an added bonus for scamming my mate G's bike to ride to work, I also got an opportunity to tag along with him and his mates on a cross country bike ride over at Manly Dam. I figured it was an opportunity to work on my fitness, ready for Machu Picchu.

I had a awesome time and really surprised myself. There were some challenging sections, including downhill sand slides and rocky outcrops to negotiate, not to mention the 'Mt Everest' hills. As a result, Diane and I are super-chicks! We showed 'em we were made of a tonne of brawn.

So pumped to get out again, the posse embarked on the same bike track the following weekend. Full of bravado and with a better idea of what we were up for, we packed the bikes up in the car for some more adventures.....and Oh! was it a day.

A third of the way through G-man didn't quite negotiate a part of the track so well. Poor bugger, accidents happen, and this one was nasty! He managed to fall on the sprocket that holds the chain. A substantial flesh wound on the inside of his calf was the result. Lucky we were on a section of the track that runs alongside a busy road. Di called the ambulance while I made sure G didn't faint. Along with carting the bikes back, lucky we had the Nik and Roj there to document the encounter! The nurses were pleased that we had photos, apparently it helps to assess the wound without unnecessarily disturbing the interim dressing. Hmmm and I just thought it was just a boy thing to do :)

G is on the road to recovery, and just like Michael Knight....he will ride again!
Talk with boys about the Michael Knight analogy
